About
Us
For more than thirty-five
years, East River Medical Imaging has led the
way in providing state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging.
The physicians, technologists and support staff who
make up this premier practice, are pioneers in blending
superior and advanced technology, extensive clinical
expertise, dignified patient care and efficient provider
relations.
East River created the
model for a multi-modality imaging center that other
imaging centers seek to emulate. It continues to lead
the way by expanding and refining the imaging center
concept with state-of-the-art technology as well as
comforting patient amenities.
Drs. George Stassa and Richard
Katz opened East River’s doors in 1985,
since that time, the facility has grown to over 14,000
square feet. Currently, East River offers PET/CT, high-field
and open MRI, CT, nuclear medicine, bone densitometry,
ultrasound, general x-ray and fluoroscopy.
East River employs over 120 full-time
staff members. Everyone from our administrative
and technical departments is committed to offer our
patients and referring physicians the very best care
and service available. Dr. Stassa retired in 2000 but
Dr. Katz; along with four other partners currently manage
the practice today. In addition to the managing partners,
East River has 5 other full-time radiologists. All East
River radiologists are certified by the American Board
of Radiology. All of our neuroradiologists have received
certificates of added qualifications in neuroradiology.
Our imaging center meets the most stringent accreditation
guidelines, OSHA regulations and the New York State
Department of Health regulations.
East River prides itself
on the level of competence and service it provides
to the community. In addition to outstanding patient
care and quality, East River supports several charities
and healthcare promotions. We strive to be the best
in every aspect of our practice and in our dedication
