Appointments

Most examinations can be scheduled with a single phone call. We offer convenient hours including early mornings, evenings, and Saturdays for many of our procedures.

Request an Appointment

In order to make your visit to our office as smooth as possible, our schedulers will obtain information from you to avoid problems at the time of the appointment. This will include information such things as Name, Date of Birth, Social Security Number, Phone Number, Address, Referring Physician, Insurance Information, Type of Examination, and reason for the examination.

The appointment scheduler will give you an appointment time and date. Certain examinations require a preparation which will be given at this time as well.

Interpreter Services

Did you know that New York City is home to over 8 million people speaking 80 different languages? This can be a challenge for most businesses, but East River Medical Imaging is rising to meet this challenge. We are pleased to announce that we now have interpreter services available for your non-English speaking patients.

We have the capability to speak with your patients while utilizing an interpreter, whether we are face-to-face or on the phone. We feel that this added service is just another way East River Medical Imaging is leading the way with technology by assisting your patients and their communication needs.

The following are just a handful of the 119 languages our interpreters can speak :

  • Mandarin
  • Cantonese
  • Russian
  • Yiddish
  • Greek
  • Etc... (over 100 other languages)

Insurance Participation

Medical insurance coverage has become quite complicated. There are many different insurance carriers, with each company having many different plans. The spectrum extends from those with total freedom of choice and no pre-authorization requirements to those that limit your choice of physician and require pre-authorization by the insurance carrier and/or a primary care physician.

If you have any questions regarding pre-authorization requirements, please feel free to ask at the time of scheduling. Because of the maze of insurance carriers, you may sometimes be referred to our Insurance/Billing Department. Although we take great strides to avoid any problems, sometimes with the complexities of certain managed care programs, problems may arise. If you have any questions or concerns about your coverage that we cannot provide adequate answers for, please call your carrier for details. If at the time of your examination you have been unable to obtain all the necessary clearances that your insurance carrier requires, we will be unable to perform the exam. These major inconveniences for you are of great concern to us, however, they are not rules that we are responsible for, but rules that we must follow as well.

Indemnity policies and Medicare do not require pre-authorization. Patients may schedule appointments either on their own or through their physician.

If you do not see your plan listed, please call our office for more current information. Indemnity policy holders require no pre-authorization or primary care referral form.

Patient Forms

The following forms are often used in our facility to enable us to properly perform your examination and provide your insurance company with the information needed to process the claim. We apologize for any inconvenience this causes, but unfortunately the information we gather is the minimum necessary to proceed with your examination. These forms can be printed and filled out before arriving at the office to save time.
