Bone Densitometry

Bone Densitometry

Bone Densitometry or dual-energy x-ray absorptiometry (DEXA) uses a low dose of ionizing radiation to measure the density of your bones.  We measure the density in the spine, hip and wrist. Your results are compared to both a young population (maximum bone density) and an age matched cohort to determine the severity of bone loss.
